Booking & Availability
Most brides book 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak wedding season dates. The sooner you book, the better chance you have of securing your date. We are always happy to accommodate last minute brides as well, but the sweet spot is usually 6-12 months out.

AMP offers a wide range of beauty services, including hair styling, makeup application, and more. They work closely with each client to create a customized look that highlights their natural beauty and makes them feel confident and empowered. Whether you’re getting ready for wedding day, a special event, or visiting the salon for a cut and color, Amanda and her team have you covered!
Your date is secured once the contract is signed and the retainer is paid.
Yes! All hair and makeup services are provided onsite for wedding day services. We do not have a large salon for in studio wedding parties of a larger size. There is a small home salon for elopements or single appointments that we can sometimes accommodate.
Travel fees will apply depending on location and timing. We are Richmond, VA based but travel anywhere!
For Saturday weddings during peak season, a service minimums do apply. We can be flexible for off season or off peak days so please dont hesitate to inquire even if you are a smaller wedding party. We do specialize in large parties though since we are a large team and can handle everyone in a smaller time frame than an independent artist.
Trials & Preview Appointments
Trials are highly recommended, but not required. They give us the chance to customize your look, make adjustments, and help you feel fully confident before the wedding day.

Whether you’re getting ready for wedding day, a special event, or visiting the salon for a cut and color, Amanda and her team have you covered!
Most brides schedule their preview appointment 1–3 months before the wedding. If you want to do a trial before booking you are welcome to, however your date is not secured until the wedding day deposit is received. We discourage doing a trial too far out from the wedding date simply so that you can make sure your skin is in its best shape, hair is closer to the length it will be, and most of your final details are ironed out so you can have the perfect vision of your wedding day look!
Inspiration photos, hair extensions (if using them), and a photo of your dress if you’d like your overall look to feel cohesive. Jewelry if you have it can be helpful. We suggest wearing something with a neckline that might mimic your dress, or at the very least something white / off white! You are always welcome to bring your favorite makeup products too if you have them to show your artist as a reference point of what you love. If you dont have that, totally fine too!
Absolutely. We can adjust and refine your look during the appointment as timing allows. We usually suggest narrowing down to one updo you love, one half up / down do, and one or two makeup looks just so that you are more streamlined. Your trial isn’t about perfection, it’s about discovery! Think of it as a test run where you can see how your hair holds, how your makeup wears, and a place to start identifying what you truly love (and what you’d like to adjust). Your artist fully expects to tweak and refine based on your guidance, so don’t hesitate to speak up and give them your feedback, that’s the whole purpose of this time together. After your appointment, pay attention to how everything wears throughout the day and take notes or photos so we can perfect your final look on the day of.
Hair Questions
Clean, fully dry hair is best for most styles. Avoid heavy oils or dry shampoo buildup. We can always make it dirtier, but it is very hard to style hair that comes in already too dirty. That being said, you know your hair best and if it holds better on day two, feel free to do that for the trial. Curly girls, come with your hair prepped the way you like it best if you are working with your natural curl.
Not always, but extensions can help add fullness, length, and longevity to certain styles — especially Hollywood waves, textured updos, or fuller half-up styles. We do not provide extensions but are happy to help guide you with recommendations on where to purchase based on your budget.
Yes! Services are customized for all hair textures and lengths.
Prep products, proper styling techniques, and sometimes extensions can make a huge difference in longevity. It’s our goal to turn your inspiration into a reality to the best of our ability. We do have to be mindful of limitations of weather, hair texture, length, etc. and at the trial we can make recommendations that might help make your inspiration style a better reality.
Makeup Questions
Absolutely. The goal is always to enhance your features so you feel confident, comfortable, and still like you.
Yes! Both traditional and airbrush makeup options are available depending on your preference and skin type. Airbrush tends to be a better fit for more natural makeup wearers due to the sheerness of coverage and how it feels on the skin. It is buildable for more coverage but if you need a decent amount of coverage, you might be a better candidate for traditional foundation.
Airbrush tends to feel lighter and offers long-lasting, transfer-resistant coverage. Traditional makeup can provide more flexibility for texture and coverage customization. Both photograph beautifully.
Arrive with clean, moisturized skin and avoid trying new skincare products right before the wedding. Be hydrated as well!!!
Yes — bridal makeup is designed for long wear, photography, dancing, and all the in-between moments.
We do have the option to add on lashes for an additional $25!
Wedding Day Questions
Typically:
Bridal Hair: 45-60 minutes max
Bridal Makeup: 45-60 max minutes
Bridesmaids/Guests: 30–45 minutes per service
Yes — a detailed morning beauty schedule is created before the wedding day to keep everything running smoothly. We will work off a timeline of 30 mins per service to begin and we add an additional cushion time at the end of 45-60 minutes to ensure no one is running late. We do not recommend omitting the “touch up / cushion time”.
Yes! Additional artists can be arranged when needed to accommodate larger groups or tighter timelines for a fee.
We will figure out the number of artists for your party size and your desired timeline. Should you need to add additional artists based on timing restrictions from the venue, or something else, we are happy to offer that for an extra fee if it is beyond what we would normally recommend.
Adjustments can be made but we ask for you to be as close to what you might need for day of at the time of booking just to ensure that you have the right number of artists allocated for your day.
Policies
All payments are set up through Honeybook, your custom portal. You can do automatic bank transfer, credit / debit card payments or you may request to pay by Venmo.
Retainers are non-refundable because your date is reserved exclusively for you.
Touch-up services and second looks can be added to your package if desired. We are booked based on services, not time, so once the services are completed and your touch ups are finished, our team does not stay on site unless you have added that as an extra service.
